The co-developed course focuses on sustainable forest management and climate-adaptive forestry practices. It introduces key principles of continuous cover forestry, natural regeneration, and the transformation of even-aged stands into diverse, resilient forest ecosystems.

Restoring Ecosystems Resilience (During and After Crises)

The co-developed interdisciplinary course focuses on how ecosystems respond to disturbances and long-term environmental change. It introduces key concepts of resilience, ecosystem functioning, and biodiversity, and explores how ecological systems can be assessed, conserved, and restored under increasing anthropogenic pressure.

Remote Monitoring of Land Cover

This co-developed course is focused on the use of remote sensing technologies and geospatial analysis for environmental monitoring and land cover assessment. It introduces students to optical, RADAR, and LIDAR data products, as well as practical applications of cloud-based geospatial analysis tools for quantitative land cover monitoring.

Course 4

Forest Ecosystems and Climate Change

This is a co-developed course that focuses on the interactions between forest ecosystems and climate change. It explores ecosystem resilience, carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable forestry approaches through interdisciplinary and practice-oriented learning.

Applied content

Course work combines theory with exercises, case studies, field-oriented methods, and digital learning tools.

International examples

Students compare Ukrainian, German, European, and international cases across forestry and ecosystem management.
